Friday, June 9th, 2017 marks the 4 th anniversary of my first date with Catherine Ann(e) Wright.
We spent yesterday staining, painting, lifting patio stones, getting groceries, removing a roof tarp, helping rip cedar trim, and other tasks.
Angus' new shed is nearing completion. The roof leak is as yet undiagnosed. Bruce dropped by and helped move a score of large patio stones and his assistance was appreciated; The removal will facilitate rear deck and roof repair.
The evening was easier. We enjoyed a lovely beat and goat cheese salad and Cathy had a fig tortellini dish while I had a basil pesto chicken penne. Desert was a decadent gluten-free chocolate brownie cake and a Greek yogurt raspberry cheesecake. All of this was enjoyed on a patio next to the Rideau Canal, a World Heritage site, at the Canal Ritz restaurant.
Catherine and I discussed our time together and our relationship and we concluded it has been 4 good years, despite many trials set before us by the world.
We've been talking lately about what format of wedding our current circumstances might permit. The fall may be the best choice given the declining state of our parents, if we can make it happen.
I am so very happy Catherine and MJ are part of my life. I look forward to our time together. They make the hard days easier.
