The sort who get the job done...

US Sgt. is awarded Silver Star

Pursuing an assault into the face of hostile fire and in spite of injury to seize the high ground, drive off some enemy, and protect his people. It's this sort of guy that shows why the military forces of Canada, Britain and the USA are deserving of a lot of respect.

  1. It's interesting that the Canadian press doesn't seem to report any medals awarded to Canadian soldiers.

It's equally interesting/pathetic that our government generally refuses permission to our soldiers to wear medals awarded by other countries, for example the Kuwaiti government struck thank you medals for Canadian soldiers serving in first Gulf war yet the government refused permission for soldiers to wear it on their uniform. Seems to be in poor taste to me.

  2. The dates in the article I read are from the Chretien era government.
