It appears I have managed to secure Thursday and Friday this week off as well as the weekend. Of course, there is still time for someone at work to blow huge holes in this plan, but it seems like it is going to happen. Tonight I'm going to Sens vs. Capitals at Scotiabank Place courtesy of work.
I'm thinking of going to see my friend Robert in Kingston. He's just had a new son called Jack that I have yet to meet. He's also going off to serve his country in Afghanistan doing some work related to the Provincial Reconstruction Teams. It's a civil-military affairs gig and he's a proud member of the Canadian Navy so of course they're strapping him into body armour and sending him to the big Sandbox. I'd like to see him before he goes away.
Of course, I have a pile of other friends in Kingston. I missed a Halloween party in Kingston thanks to work (actually, missed another in Ottawa for the same reason). It'll be nice to breathe non-work air for a day or three.
Freedom! (I'll treasure the illusion until reality intrudes again...)
